In the recent survey for our annual State of Resilience Report, we discovered the majority of our 1,598 respondents are dealing with serious IT obstacles. One of the major challenges they reported is an inhibited ability to share data across their organizations. If you can’t share data, you can’t make timely, accurate business decisions. If you can’t make timely, accurate business decisions, you risk losing the competitive edge to organizations that can.

Not that long ago cloud was considered risky new technology. General opinion was that it wouldn’t be used by large enterprises, and that it couldn’t be used in regulated industries. Collectively, we couldn’t have been more wrong. Today 65% of businesses surveyed use cloud services in one form or another. A whopping 78% plan to deploy cloud-based solutions in the next five years.

Earlier this month Amazon and Microsoft announced that they received the highest level of compliance by the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) for their cloud platforms. Now, federal agencies can run sensitive workloads on AWS and Microsoft Azure public clouds, and Vision Solutions is helping them get there.

As you know, Microsoft ended support for SQL Server 2005 in April. Organizations still running SQL Server 2005 will no longer receive security updates; this could potentially lead to performance issues.
